Assalaamu Alaikum,
My name is Daanyaal Qureshi, and currently I am 17 years old, studying Mechanical Engineering at Mission College. Before attending Mission College, I was Memorizing the Holy Quran at Darus Suffah Hifz Academy from 7th Grade up until 11th grade. It was there that I learned more about how Muslims have a responsibility to be involved in their communities as a force for positive change. This is why I have decided to join CAIR and other students in this years MYLP. Students at MYLP will gain an in-depth understanding of California's legislative process, sharpen their leadership skills, and receive hands-on training in the areas of civic engagement and media advocacy. I believe that these will be essential for me to be able to uphold the responsibilities I have to my community, both as a Hafiz and as a Muslim in general. So please, join me in supporting real change, and help CAIR continue to empower others like me to create a better future for all of us.
